We’ve Arrived!

We have arrived in Nairobi, Kenya and we are both doing extremely well.  The last few days we have been trying to get settled and learn our way around Rosslyn Academy.  Our trip over was long and grueling (27 hours!!), however we were able to see a small bit of Amsterdam during our layover (A very small bit, we just ran around the city to see what we could see in an hour and a half!!).  It was rushed, but a great experience nonetheless.

Rosslyn is a very unique place and already we are beginning to feel at home here.  There is an incredible sense of community and family here on the campus.  We have been very blessed to have met some incredible people who have made our transition very smooth.  God has really blessed us with a nice home and wonderful new friends and neighbors.  We are so thankful!  We have not had the chance to get out into the city much so far (other than short shopping trips) since we have been focusing on getting settled here at school.  But soon enough we plan to find a few ministries that we can work with and support in the community.

School will officially begin on August 12th.  Jamie will be teaching 2nd grade and is excited about the upcoming school year.  Jessica will be working closely with the school superintendent and is ready to get into her role there.  We both know this is going to be an amazing year.  Well that is all for now.  We will post some pictures of the inside of the house when it looks more like the inside of a house!  But for now here are a few shots.

And our backyard. It is difficult to tell from these pictures, but the surrounding scenery is beautiful!!
