This is Jessica writing. I apologize for the delay in getting this posted. I went to the States June 19th to visit family and friends and I came back to Kenya on July 7th. It was a great trip. I started my trip with a 10 hour layover in London. Not wanting to wait in the airport for that long I hopped on the tube and headed into the city. For those of you who know me you know that this is a big deal for me since I am directionally challenged. I found a map of downtown though and walked around the city for a while seeing Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Parliment, and a few other sites. I got Starbucks, picked up a sandwich from Subway, and then headed back to the airport. It made the time pass by a lot faster then it would have had I stayed in the airport.
The first week I was home Dad, Mom, and Jenn had some time off so we spent the week laying out on the beach, eating seafood, and of course we got in our annual game of putt putt. Just for the record I had an incredible game. I had three holes in one and came in first, beating Daddy which is a huge accomplishment! That weekend Jenn and I went down to Charleston for Tiffany Ward’s bachelerotte weekend. She is getting married on September 19 and I won’t be able to be there for her wedding so I am so glad that I got to be a part of this weekend. We spent the weekend shopping and eating out. It was a great weekend and I am so glad that I got to see all of my girls (minus Erin who we missed so much). After that I headed back home for a few days and then headed to Falcon to see Jamie’s family. It was great to everyone, plus my nephew Rayf and four month old niece Emery. I stayed in Falcon for a few days and then headed to Hemingway to spend the night with my Grandma Cox. As always, I enjoyed just sitting and chatting with her. My last few days at home were spent frantically shopping for all of the essentials we needed to take back to Kenya, and trying to spend as much time as possible with my family. I also got to have lunch with my good friend Amber Strickland, and I got to meet up with Ashleigh Evatt, David Luper, and Mari Lora on my way out. It was a great trip and a wonderful time with family and friends, but I must say it is good to be back home in Kenya with my wonderful husband, Jamie.
