Living in a foreign country, though an amazing experience in many ways, can be very difficult due to the seperation from family. Luckily, we were able to spend Christmas at home with our family and friends. Nothing can replace being with your family on the holidays, even if you are freezing the majority of the time because you aren’t used to cold weather anymore. We feel blessed that we have been able to travel home both Christmases since we have lived here, and God willing, we will continue to go home for the holidays each year. We love our families and are so thankful for all of their love and support!
On our way home we scheduled an overnight layover in London so that we could catch a showing of Les Miserables at Queen’s Theater. We have toured London a few times, but never had enough time for a show, which is something Jessica has especially been wanting to do. Unfortunately, horrible weather conditions in London delayed our arrival by 6 hours, cutting into our time. But we still had time to freshen up and make it to the show. We both loved it. Les Mis is such an amazing story of redemption and grace, and of course the performance was phenomenal. “To love another person is to see the face of God.” Amazing and true.
Now we are back in Nairobi and we are slowly getting back into the groove. Jet lag didn’t hurt us to bad this time, but we are definitetly looking forward to sleeping in this Saturday. We are excited for this coming year and for all the many things we know God has in store for us.
