Rosslyn Academy Christmas Project…

Each year, to celebrate Christmas, Rosslyn has a Christmas Project which raises support and awareness for local ministries.  I have been fortunate to serve on the committee for the last 5 years.  This year our goal is to bless three organizations.  Hosanna Children’s Home, Ahadi Boy’s Home, and One Lamb.

Those of you that follow our blog regularly and have supported our ministry will recognize HosannaHosanna is an orphanage that we have worked with closely over the last 4 years.  In the past I haven’t recommended projects with whom we are affiliated.  However, this year I encouraged Hosanna to submit a proposal, which went through the same process as other applicants.  After seeing their proposal, the committee unanimously agreed that they should be chosen.

The goal of the Christmas Project is to assist Hosanna in building a Biogas digester that will convert cow dung and waste into methane.  This fuel will save the orphanage on fuel costs, provide cleaner air for the cooking staff and children, and eco-friendly.  (Click here for more details on Biogas systems).  We will also be supporting Ahadi Boy’s Home (an amazing home to 14 former street boys) with the funds to start a mushroom farm sustainability project, and One Lamb (a ministry that reaches out to girls that have been abused in Majengo Slum, Nairobi) with needed supplies and resources.

Please check out the video below for more info on this year’s project. as well as the update video which shows what the project accomplished last year.
